Email a Link in CRM 2011

Post Author: Joe D365 |

Wow! Do I ever love the Email a Link feature in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011. Even though this was available in MSCRM 4.0, it was buried on the More Actions menu, and not many people even know it's there. Now with the prominent placement of the Email a Link button on the toolbar, you can Email a link of the Current View or select a number of records very quickly. Check it out!

Selecting Email a Link àOf Current View pops the link into a new Email.

You can also highlight one or more records using or and send links of the selected items. Selecting Email a Link àOf Selected Items pops the links into a new Email.

The Copy Link button above does the same thing, only it copies the items to the clipboard—allowing you to paste it into an Email as needed.

For those of you who did not know this was available Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, here's where you find that. On a list View, you can send a link to the Current View or to selected items on the View by doing More ActionsàSend Shortcut

This is a great communication tool for adhoc notifications like customer services cases that need to be updated or opportunities that have no status.

Start using it today and as always the Microsoft Dynamics CRM experts at PowerObjects are here to help – just reach out.

Happy CRM'ing

  1. Hi,
we are also using this feature for a while, it's great!
But in a specific new environment users are complaining about the fact that they have to log on each time they open a link. Even though they already have a IE window with CRM open, still IE asks for their credentials.

I know that it works on other hosted environments.
Any idea what is going wrong here?

    Regards,
    Marcel
