Have you ever wondered why you should use PowerGrid? If so then this blog is for you! Over here at PowerObjects, we use PowerGrid because it is a huge time saver.
Without PowerGrid, small changes require opening each record individually. With PowerGrid, small changes can be made to Entity Views from one screen or as a sub-grid on a form.
With the latest release of PowerGrid, users can now add conditional formatting to data in a grid, serving as a quick visual aid relevant to your users and organization, by formatting both the background and text color.
In the example below, conditional formatting is utilized to quickly identify all the contacts for a particular company, quickly identify anyone in the view who has a specific job title, or to highlight records that belong to particular geographical region. You can also query on custom fields that you have added to a view. You can even create a "fruit salad" grid and make everyone go blind:
This is easily accomplished by defining your expressions in the PowerGrid view and designate one or multiple colors to emphasize the data you desire.
That's all for the blog today, folks! Remember, you can try PowerGrid or any of our PowerPack add-ons FREE for 30 days. Go ahead, give PowerGrid a spin!
Happy CRM'ing!
Hi Joe,
Is it possible to add conditional formatting to highlight items based on dates in the past etc - that would show a user which items to update and focus on
Thanks
Hi Darren - Yeah - currently we can't do conditional formatting based on dates. We have this on the back log.
Colors in the example image are too hot. It would be wonderful if the grid has an option to pick some already defined cold colors or color schemes.
Hi - Yep - we agree 🙂 We have a color wheel built-in so you can click on the color background and select from a color wheel instead of typing in the hex code for the color.
Great.
Is the colour option not available for CRM2011?
I don't seem to find the option to change the row colour based on an optionset type.
