PowerObjects to Present Webinar on Using Dynamics CRM to Avoid Medicare Reimbursement Cuts

PowerObjects, a professional services firm 100% focused on Microsoft Dynamics CRM, is pleased to announce two upcoming webinars on the Discharge Readmission Evaluation and Management (DREAM) solution. This system was built in response to new rules in the Affordable Care Act, which will penalize hospitals with high rates of Medicare beneficiaries who are readmitted for heart attacks, heart failure and pneumonia.

Registration is open for both webinars. Part A in the series, How to Avoid Medicare Reimbursement Cuts, will be held on April 17th from 2:00-3:00 pm CDT. Part B in the series, An In-Depth Look at the DREAM Solution, will be held on May 2nd from 2:00-3:00 pm CDT. Both webinars are open to the public.

“Avoiding Medicare reimbursement cuts is top of mind for hospitals right now,” says Dr. Timothy Pratt, Health & Life Sciences Solution Design Consultant at PowerObjects. “We built the DREAM solution to help answer the very real problem hospitals face as they try to lower their Medicare readmission rates—because if they don’t, they are going to feel the pain in reduced reimbursements. This is projected by the Congressional Budget Office to add up to billions of dollars in reduced base-operating DRGs for over 2,600 hospitals across the US.”

The DREAM solution runs on a Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform that identifies patients who are at risk of being readmitted and automates follow-up activities such as appointment reminders, recovery care documents, tracking of key condition indicators, and involvement of family and community care as needed. It is designed as an affordable solution that integrates with systems that hospitals already have in place, such as Electronic Health Records (EHR).

“As it stands now, hospitals don’t have the right systems in place to begin addressing the Medicare readmission reduction problem in an efficient manner,” says Dr. Pratt. “The Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform leverages familiar and ubiquitous Microsoft systems and tools like Word and Outlook for maximum efficiency and minimum outlay. The design paradigm was to provide a low burden, high impact solution to improve patient outcomes and decrease Hospitals’ risk exposure – our physician advisors feel this solution meets those design goals.”

The DREAM solution is just one of many in PowerObjects’ RxRM initiative, which are XRM solutions configured to meet the unique and complex needs of healthcare organizations. As a solutions design consultant, Dr. Pratt works closely with a Medical Advisory Board of physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop affordable Dynamics CRM solutions for organizations in the health and life sciences.
