PowerObjects, an HCL Technologies Company Achieves Major Milestone with Millionth PowerPack Subscriber

Minneapolis – PowerObjects recently acquired its millionth active subscription to its PowerPack program. The 30 unique add-ons that comprise PowerPack are tools designed to help enhance the capabilities of Dynamics 365, increasing the capability and efficiency of the platform, as well as enhancing technology investments. Each add-on was developed based on needs identified by both customers and PowerObjects team members using the product. By design, they are add-on applications for Dynamics 365 that serve as alternative solutions to fill gaps in functionality without additional development costs.

The PowerPack program launched at PowerObjects in 2011 with the release of PowerPhoto, an add-on developed to enable Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 users to add photos directly on their forms in CRM. In the nearly eight years since, PowerObjects has released 35 unique add-on applications. Along the way, five add-ons were sunset because newer versions of Dynamics closed the gaps that made them necessary. The number of PowerPack subscriptions has grown steadily since 2011, eventually crossing the 1,000,000-threshold earlier this year. The million-plus subscriptions come from 2,150 different organizations across 101 countries.

“Reaching the million milestone reinforces a few of our company’s Guiding Principles,” says Jim Sheehan, co-founder and current Senior Vice President at PowerObjects. “We believe it is important to Live the Technology, and as a company devoted exclusively to Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Business Applications, it only made sense that we would build technology solutions designed to support and strengthen the platform.

“Another of our principles is Think Team, which this accomplishment fully embodies. You must understand that at the time this was conceived, there was no ‘App Store’ for the Microsoft user community – there was no delivery engine in place. To get add-ons in the hands of customers who needed them, we relied on our team to develop, test, market, sell, deliver, maintain, and manage them. We knew it would add value to the user community, but it was a real leap of faith at that point in time. So, to hit a million just eight years later is a profound example of the power of team.”

Each of the 30 PowerPack add-ons falls into one of two categories: Marketing Automation tools are designed to help reduce manual processes and streamline many marketing-related procedures; the Productivity tools are used to save time and clicks within Dynamics 365. A 31st add-on, PowerCopy, will be released in the next few weeks and several more are in various stages of development.
