PowerObjects is seeking a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Functional Consultant - Construction Specialist to join their award winning and growing team in the United Kingdom. The Functional Consultant will be responsible for designing and implementing PowerObjects’ Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations solution for construction. The construction consultant should have worked in a systems role within the industry or as part of an at a software partner on large scale construction industry implementations. This person will have a wider understanding of ERP business processes from a construction perspective, and desire to quickly upskill their knowledge in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. A background of delivery of large-scale ERP solutions is preferable.


Essential Functions

  • Take ownership of all aspects of construction projects within the PMA module of Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, working with the business stakeholders and successful delivery of the programmes
  • In order to ensure End to end business solution be delivered, need to work closely with clients and other team members to define, design and align the business application to the business requirements
  • Work closely with the PowerProperty team to develop best practice functionality around pre-construction, construction, property development and project management
  • Assist with kick-offs, requirement gathering and knowledge transfer sessions; evaluate the client business processes and provide Business requirement document
  • Perform Fit-gap analysis, convert requirements to functional specs and functional design documents
  • Convert requirements to functional specs and functional design documents
  • Functional consulting to design and develop Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations solutions for clients on Project management and accounting module
  • Should be able to Configure, Test and Demo Project management and accounting module in Dynamics 365 for construction projects
  • Participate in the development of functional design documentation and technical specifications, unit and system test scripts, and deployment plans, perform SIT testing
  • Should have experience in handling SIT, End user training, UAT and Go Live
  • Should have experience in data migration activities
  • Own project deliverables (status reports, documentation, test plans.) Take personal ownership of the success of deliverables and projects
  • Conduct functional testing of modifications and sub-processes during sprints

Desired Skills

  • Significant experience within a systems or process role working with the construction industry
  • Experience of configuring and implementing systems for the construction industry
  • Must be willing to quickly upskill in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations functionality, and previous experience of Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations desirable
  • Awareness of and experience working on key project module areas like WBS, revenue recognition, contract management, milestones, customer & vendor retentions, funding sources & forecast and project budgeting
  • Good knowledge on UK tax regime around CIS & VAT shelters
  • Awareness of agile & sure step implementation methodology
  • Ability to analyse client requirements and objectives to determine how software can best meet client’s requirement
  • Complete knowledge on various Project management Inquiry tools and reports
  • Excellent communication skills along with good analysis and documentation skills

  • Work in a collaborative environment
  • Knowledge of specialist construction software would be advantageous
  • Appropriate Microsoft certifications – or willing to quickly become certified
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Experience on Dynamics AX / 365 for Finance and Operations preferred
  • Experience on UK Housing, projects management, or financial appraisals projects preferred
