The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Unified Operations Solution Architect carries the ultimate responsibility for meeting the customer requirements and completing the project. The Dynamics 365 Unified Operations Solution Architect will be comfortable in all aspects of delivery. They must be capable of switching between supporting or leading customer facing functional workshops, supporting technical roles including interface, data & development teams, either customer based or PowerObjects-centric onshore and off-shore teams, working with project and programme managers to effectively report on progress and risks and issues – to liaising with both internal and customer senior stakeholders – adjusting the approach and language as required for each interaction. The candidate must be extremely detail-oriented, have the ability to multitask, be meticulously organized, and be able to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.


Essential Functions

  • Assume overall responsibility for solution architecture including clear visibility of transition from as-is solution landscape to to-be solution landscape through delivery and ownership of solution overview diagrams
  • Ability to act as a functional lead and able to demonstrate clear approach to methodology as well as functional capabilities. Leads functional workshops with customers, documents requirements and designs appropriate solutions
  • Ability to act as an interface/integration lead and able to demonstrate clear approach to methodology as well as technical capabilities. Leads integration workshops with customers, documents requirements and designs appropriate solutions
  • Ability to act as data migration lead and able to demonstrate clear approach to methodology as well as technical capabilities. Leads data migration workshops with customers, documents requirements and designs appropriate solutions
  • Be a strong advocate for adherence to standards and best practice. Understand the capabilities of the development team, providing support and assistance when needed
  • Work with customer and internal teams on solution, business and infrastructure architecture where required
  • Provide required functional, business and technical support to our customers during Dynamics 365 for Unified Operations implementations working with Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement Architects on hybrid projects
  • Write and review high level and detailed solution architecture documentation
  • Create Solution and Functional documentation for the project
  • Design, review and test customised code for Dynamics 365 for Unified Operations customisations
  • Stay current on Dynamics 365 for Unified Operations and related technologies, particularly Azure stack technologies that support the solution
  • Mentor junior staff, sharing knowledge and experience to ensure that the team grows in experience and effectiveness
  • Expected to be flexible with time and capable of working in a process-oriented environment
  • Excellent communicator with ability to operate within cross functional teams
  • Advise customers on best practices for Dynamics 365 for Unified Operations processes, user interface, and architecture
  • Work with the training team to deliver and create super users and end users training, as needed
  • Comfortable participating and leading pre-sales engagements
  • Work effectively with the sales team on delivering tender response documents, estimates and customer demonstrations

Required Skills and Experience

  • Solid Microsoft platform Software or IT experience, minimum of 5 years of professional experience within a consultancy environment
  • Extensive experience as either a functional lead, solution with AX or Dynamics 365 for Unified Operations
  • At least 5 end-to-end full life cycle implementations of AX or Dynamics 365 for Unified Operations
  • Expert knowledge of finance and distribution and trade as well as good understanding of PMA, Talent and proven industry experience in a number for industry sectors
  • Exposure to Visual Studio Team Services or other similar enterprise planning and delivery tools
  • Experience of leading projects using all aspects of LCS
  • Able to manage or lead multiple large projects (6-24 months) with advanced organizational skills
