At PowerObjects, we like to ring in the holidays by donating $5 to charity on behalf of everyone who fills out our holiday survey. We sent the survey out mid-December and the results are in with over 500 surveys completed, which means roughly $2,500 will be donated.

The concept was simple, we asked people to fill out the one-minute online survey which we created in our PowerPack add-on, PowerSurveyPlus, and then sent to our contacts using our PowerMailChimp add-on, and for every survey filled we'd donate $5 to a non-profit! Not bad for one minute of your time.

Last year’s holiday survey resulted in a nice donation going to People Serving People. People Serving People is the largest and most comprehensive, family-focused homeless shelter in Minnesota, helping homeless and at-risk children and their families manage crisis situations and build a strong foundation for their long-term success. People Serving People provides emergency shelter to meet families’ basic needs and support services—early childhood education, K-12 enrichment, employment resources, parent engagement—that are focused on moving families toward self-sufficiency and breaking the cycle of poverty for families experiencing homelessness.

This year, our charity of focus was Practical Action. Practical Action believes that technology is a key to ending poverty. Last year, they worked with over 2.8 million people globally who are living in poverty. With cutting edge science and innovation benefiting billions of people, there are still a billion more who are left behind. Practical Action's vision is to allow people to have access to the technologies that enable them to meet their basic needs and reach their potential. Together, we can make a difference.
