What’s new in Dynamics 365 Field Service

Post Author: Joe D365 |

There are a lot of great new additions to Dynamics 365 Field Service.  One of our favorite features is the updated schedule board.  The schedule board is at the heart of the field service product and its enhancements provide improved usability and efficiency to the user.

One of the first things you will notice about the schedule board is the updated theme and flatter modern look. It can expand to use as much visual space on the screen to reduce scrolling by the user.  You will notice that the navigation bar is missing at the top of the screen. More visual cues about the resources like pictures and a quick glance of skill set proficiency also improves scheduling decision making for the dispatcher. The schedule board has increased its' capacity of what items can be included. Previously only work orders or generic bookings were displayed.  Now other entities like project work and opportunities can be included on the board.

The filtering capabilities remain strong so that each individual or department can decide what information should be displayed. This greatly increases the depth and breadth of how this tool can be maximized within an organization. The schedule board can also be configured in many ways with different colors, icons, and time frames.
