Friday Flash Tip: Where is the “New” Button to create a new Invoice Line View?

Post Author: Joe D365 |

It's important to some organizations to give their sales team visibility into past invoices. This helps them analyze trends and predict the future needs of their customers. This invoice data is often stored in a separate system, which creates the need to log into two separate systems to view the data. But what if you integrated that system with Dynamics CRM?

By showing invoice data with out-of-the-box Invoice and Invoice Line entities in CRM, CRM users can analyze buying trends in one system. Since integrated invoicing systems have additional fields that are not on the Invoice or Invoice Line entities in CRM, we can add a few new fields to store this data. Then the next step is to create new views to surface these data points.

But wait, what's this? There is no option to create a new Invoice Line View. The option is simply not there in the configuration.
