Top 5 PowerPack Add-ons

Post Author: Joe D365 |

PowerObjects has developed 30+ PowerPack add-ons that enhance the functionality of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement. The PowerPack subscriber base just recently hit 1,000,000 users, so we thought it was good time to share our top five most popular add-ons. Enjoy!

1. PowerAutoNumber

This nifty little add-on allows you to automatically put any combination of sequential numbers, random letters, date/time stamps, field values, or static characters into a field of any entity of Dynamics 365. And you can customize things like formatting, number of digits/characters, starting number, and whether to assign an auto-number on record create, record update, or both. The most common use for PowerAutoNumber is to create unique identifiers for records like Quotes, Accounts, etc. It may seem simple, but it's powerful, and it's our most popular PowerPack add-on.

2. PowerOneView

As the name suggests, this add-on helps you by displaying in a single view all records related to a specific Entity. Simply open an Account – like Fourth Coffee shown below, for example – and the PowerOneView window will display all Contacts, Activities, Cases, Opportunities, etc. related to it. Furthermore, you can even add activities to the selected record in the window with a single click – below we've added a phone call activity to a Contact related to Fourth Coffee right from PowerOneView. It's no wonder this time-saving tool is #2 on our list!

And to take it a step further, you can configure PowerOneView so that, within an Account, you can view all additional records that are related to the specific record you're viewing in the window. For example, if we're on PowerOneView for the Fourth Coffee Account, not only can we see all records related to Fourth Coffee, but if one of those records is , say, Contact A, we're also able to view all Activities that are related to Contact A!

3. PowerWebForm

If you have a form on your website and you use Dynamics 365, you need PowerWebForm! This awesome add-on allows you to create a webform in Dynamics and put it on your website, and then it uses the provided information to automatically create a CRM record – you decide which kind, including custom entities! Many of our customers use PowerWebForm for their Contact Us forms and automatically create Leads within Dynamics when the form is submitted. This is a huge efficiency gain, as it is no longer necessary to manually enter leads into the system; it's also a win for your potential customers, as it shortens the lag time from submission to first contact attempt. PowerWebForm can connect to your GoToWebinar account and automatically detect duplicates in the system before creating a new one. We even included a double opt-in feature (you can choose whether to turn it on) that generates and embeds a unique URL into a confirmation email that is sent to the address submitted. Until the recipient clicks the link to verify and opt-in, they are considered to have opted-out.

4. PowerGrid

This add-on provides a grid in which you can edit information displayed on Views in Dynamics 365. Simply navigate to PowerGrid and choose an Entity and View – then you can edit information in that grid without having to open the records and wait for them to load. With PowerGrid, you can also configure expressions to automatically highlight a row if a specific set of criteria is true. For example, you can highlight yellow all rows in which the Main Phone field is blank, as shown below. It also allows you to limit your search to only the View you select versus having to create Advanced Finds to accomplish the same thing. PowerGrid also gives you a handy reading pane to view additional information about the record without having to open it. Another simple, but truly powerful, PowerPack add-on.

5. PowerGlobalSearch

This wonderful search tool allows you to quickly search across any Field of any Entity in Dynamics 365. An added bonus is the configurable reading pane, which allows you to view additional information about the record without having to open it. In the example below, we searched for *im across all fields in this Entity, which returns all records in which any field contains any character followed by im. And note that we don't have to open the Jim Glynn Contact record to see additional details – PowerGlobalSearch displays that information in the reading pane when the record is selected.
