Reporting to the Second in Dynamics CRM

Post Author: Joe D365 |

Hopefully you have a reporting genius at your company who will create custom Dynamics CRM reports for you on-the-fly. But if that's not the case—or that person is just out of the office today—you may be trying to gather CRM data on your own.

The reports area can give you a lot of information about your CRM data, but one thing it doesn't do automatically is show you the seconds! We have talked about the Date/Time field in the past, today's tidbit of information is centered around a clock's secondhand.

Let's say you need to know the exact second a record was created—maybe a touch point with your customer. If you create and run a CRM report and include Created On date, your results for that field will be formatted as mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm AM/PM.

To  view, export and analyze what second the record was created, follow these steps:

1. Select the Created On column in your report and select Change Properties.

2. Flag Include unformatted value column.

3. Now when you run the report, you will see both columns for Created On.

Note: You can also include the unformatted value column for field types Currency, Whole Number and Decimal.

Happy CRM'ing!
