Current Situation

In today's current situation an application is one-way, paper-based system; this leads to many problems. The timeliness of applications becomes an issue, and distributing applications to various decision makers becomes difficult. Simply managing all the paper is a task in itself, on top of finding a qualified applicant from amongst all the paper. Having a one-way flow of data makes it impossible to validate an application. Applications are often either incomplete or not legible. A paper-based system has many problems, and starts to break down with as few as 30 applications. powerHR was developed to solve these issues, as well as add value to the HR staff.

The following is how powerHR works:

1. An administrator sets up a new job posting.
2. An applicant submits their application via the web.
3. The administrator reviews, manages, and distributes applications via the web.


1. Administrator sets up new job posting

An administrator builds applications by creating position types and attaching sections. A section determines the questions that will be presented to an applicant. Once you have a defined position type, you can create a job posting to collect applications in minutes.

  • The HR administrator builds job applications online for any type of position.
  • The administrator can include or exclude template sections, or create new sections.
  • Once the position and application sections are defined, a job posting is created.


2. Applicant submits application via the Web

An applicant can apply for any position or job posting via the Internet. The two-way flow of data allows the applicant to input information, upload documents and submit the application online. The applicant can also log into the system at any time and update their application.

They can:

  • Set up an online account to view job postings.
  • Apply for positions by answering questions on the online application.
  • Upload documents.
  • Save > Confirm > Submit application.
  • View application in PDF format.


3. Administrator reviews, manages, and distributes applications via the web

 

The administration process consists of Search Application, Job Posting, Manage Users, Setup, and Reports

Using a browser and an easy-to-use interface, the administrator can control who can access applications as well as what data can be viewed within applications.

The administrator can:

  • Log in to view applications.
  • Search by job posting or position type.
  • Key section searches.
  • Use folders and shared folders to group applicants.
  • View applications as PDF or Excel document.
