Profile

I was born and raised in the Philippines. I was in the 3rd grade the first time I saw and used a computer. I never thought of becoming a computer scientist, but because of the 1991 Mt. Pinatubo eruption (a long story), I am one now. Turbo Pascal was my first language to be learned at the university, but after the first semester they changed it to Turbo C. As a first year student it wasn't easy to shift languages, compounded by the lack of internet access with no manner to communicate with the outside or post problems in the forum, but it was a worthwhile experience.

During my early career in programming in the Philippines, I worked for different companies: Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, and American. They were in different industries and developed or maintained different systems. Each had different styles and techniques and each one used different programming language, as well as the spoken language itself, but they all had one thing in common: "Software Bug".
