Technical Writer and Trainer


PowerObjects is seeking a Technical Writer for the training team to assist with the development of technical documents, manuals, PowerPoints and instructional materials for client implementation projects. This role would support customer trainings in the context of an implementation, upgrade, or a request for ad hoc training. This role will look for new opportunities to provide value to customers through education.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities include:
Learning technologies and processes such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, mobile applications, portals business intelligence tools, field service and call center technologies.
Working with project consultants and trainers to understand specific project (standard SFA, XRM, etc.) requirements, design, and scope.
Writing training documentation to the specifications of the project and/or customer, which may include Word documents with screenshots and PowerPoint presentations
Analyzing documents and revising them to provide continuity in format and appearance.
Providing estimates and timelines for development of documentation, providing project updates internally or to clients, and keeping projects within scope and budget.
Transferring knowledge to others on the system or processes being trained, which may be remote meetings or traveling to the client site
Assisting training consultants as co-trainers in the classroom, as needed.
Occasionally conducting training where needed.

Key Measurements of Performance

An additional area of responsibility will be to contribute to the team and transfer knowledge by:
Participating in weekly team meetings and actively listening to issues and contributing ideas
Assisting with the reviewing of blogs and writing of the CRM Book
Assisting with development of internal PowerObjects University instruction

Desired Skills

2-3 years experience and proven ability to do quality technical documentation
Technical aptitude and fast learner
Comfortable speaking in front of an audience
Experience working with a variety of systems, a CRM-type of system preferred
Business process knowledge – understanding the roles of sales, marketing, and service roles within a company
Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
