PowerMailChimp is a powerful tool for sending out rich HTML emails right from within Microsoft Dynamics CRM. But did you know that you can also use this bulk email add-on to send out plain text emails?

Plain text emails are a great way of sending out messaging that is direct and to the point, so that your audience is focused on the content of your email rather than the images and links surrounding your email content. With PowerMailChimp's latest version 1.6.1.2011, you can easily choose what type of message you want to send. If plain text is your delivery of choice, simply follow the steps below:

1. First, start creating your PowerMailChimp blast in CRM as normal. Identify the general information and associate the marketing list that you want to send the email blast to.
2. Forgo the option to select a MailChimp template and simply write your plain text content in the multi-line text field provided on the form. Just like in HTML emails, merge tags will still work, and there no need to add unsubscribe messaging since MailChimp will automatically add that content for you.
   
3. Once you are done writing your email and have a MailChimp Blast Id populated, you are ready to send, like any other PowerMailChimp blast! When your email recipients open their emails it will look something like the image below:
