Here’s What You Need to Know About Changes to Dynamics 365 for Operations

Post Author: Joe D365 |

There are a lot of changes spinning out from Microsoft, and while we've had a lot of blogs focused on changes to CRM, there are still oodles to showcase with Dynamics 365 for Operations. We won't cover them all, but we'll at least give you the necessities. But before we get started, hear from our ERP Practice Director, Carri Lesatz, on what exactly Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations is and how PowerObjects can help!

Now let's cover the latest and greatest applications:

The Name – Okay…Not an Application, but we Need to Cover This First

  • You need to know that the name Dynamics 365 for Operations is no more. It's being rebranded as Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Enterprise Edition. A fitting name considering this overall update is preparing us for a much more connected ecosystem of platforms.

New Applications – Dynamics 365 for Talent

  • This application is going to be tremendous. We knew big things were headed our way with Microsoft's acquisition of LinkedIn, and we're beginning to see them play out. Dynamics 365 for Talent provides an end-to-end view into your workforce. From potential recruits to veteran employees and retention rates, the new application will allow you to see all that you need to find the best and brightest new talent. It will also enable you to maintain up to date views of current employee skillsets, as well as onboard employees in a unique manner which sets every employee up to be productive fast so they can deliver top results.

New Application – Dynamics 365 for Retail

  • The new Dynamics 365 for Retail is designed to provide for full view of retail operations: from inventory to financials to employees. Modernized point of sale experiences allow frontend employees to increase sales while delivering higher quality of service. We also see AI driven intelligence infused across the application, ensuring all decisions – from brick and mortar to social clicks online – are being made in the best, most desirable way to suit your business. Finally, we'll also see integrated workforce management for store managers to easily create and publish shifts and schedules. Store associates will gain the capability to submit absence requests.

New Application – Microsoft Relationship Sales

  • This new application brings LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Sales, Enterprise Edition together to help sellers connect better with customers while increasing productivity.

There are plenty of new features and updates with the latest changes to Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Enterprise Edition. While we can't cover them all in one blog, we hope this give you the jump start you need to prepare your business for the changes to come!

Happy Dynamics 365'ing!
