The PowerObjects team was in Palm Springs, CA last week! Not for Coachella…but for the Field Service USA 2017 conference! Over 700 cross-industry service leaders came from around the world to the conference to connect and learn more about field service.

Our focus at this conference was to demonstrate how we could provide a full end-to-end field service solution with Microsoft Dynamics 365.

At the PowerObjects booth, we gave a demo of a predictive service IoT device that can be installed in a roof to measure temperature and humidity. The device monitors temperature to measure the performance of the roof materials, humidity is measured to detect any leaks, and if there is a leak, an alert is sent into CRM to automatically dispatch a technician. We used a birdhouse as our sample roof and walked attendees through the process of sensor to CRM.

We also discussed our ServSmart Framework, which is an end-to-end solution that helps organizations view, track, and manage all aspects of their field service process from product to service to repair. ServSmart captures data from a machine, drives that data into Azure IoT, defines the parameters to create an alert within CRM, and provides the analysis to define and refine predictive maintenance.

Our customer, Ken Kelly, President of Kelly Roofing, attended the conference and had a great speaking session on “A Technology Transformation to Support Exponential Business Growth and Focus on Customers.” Ken is a leading voice in the industry and evangelist of digital technology transformation. He spoke at length about how CRM for Dynamics 365 transformed his business and allowed his team to maximize efficiency and focus on delivering exceptional customer service.

We ended our week at Field Service USA with a fun giveaway for a Samsung SmartThings Hub! Sharing our love of all things IoT. It was a great week in beautiful Palm Springs and we had great conversations around Field Service and the ways IoT can help businesses provide better service and become more profitable and efficient.
