Post Author: Joe D365 |

If your SSIS project is deployed to SSIS catalog i.e. SSISDB and you lost your source project file, then you need to edit the SSIS packages in the deployed project. In this blog from PowerObjects, we will discuss how to retrieve your project/packages.

Option 1: Integration Services Import Project Wizard

  1. Open a new project from template called Integration Services Import Project Wizard (available in SQL server Data Tools).

You are done! Your SSIS project is now loaded in SSDT with all packages, parameters and variables!

Option 2: Exporting from Integration Services Catalog i.e. SSISDB

1. Locate the deployed project is your SSIS Catalog.

2. Right click the project and then hit Export and save the file as ispac.

3. Then rename the .ispac to .zip. Extract the zip file and locate the package you want.

  1. Apologies, but I don't see a connection between the title "Retrieving SSIS project/packages from SSIS catalog in Dynamics CRM" and the contents of the post itself. How is this related to Dynamics CRM?

    1. Hi Henrik - We use SSIS for about 50% of the integrations we do with dynamics crm The advantages is that ssis comes with sql server, so no additional software to purchase, is fast, and many times our large clients already have ssis skill set. We have had a couple clients lose their ssis project as they did not backup the ssis db and/or did knot know it was this easy to create a copy/backup of the ssis package.

  2. This did not work for me, when i followed your instructions it just opened up a blank black screen even though I know I have a package that works built in.
