PowerCTI: Automatically Open a Record Upon Receiving an Incoming Phone Call in Dynamics CRM

Have you ever received a phone call, had to ask the person their name, or company name, then had to put them on hold while you find their record in your Microsoft Dynamics CRM system? What if there was a tool that could search the records in your CRM, and automatically pop open the record of the person who is calling? PowerCTI is a Microsoft Dynamics CRM add-on that will do just that! When the phone rings, PowerCTI will query your CRM, and pop open the caller's CRM record. When setting up PowerCTI, the CRM system admin will decide which entities they would like PowerCTI to search in when a call comes in. It can be a contact, lead, account or a custom entity.

Once PowerCTI has been configured, when a call comes in, PowerCTI will automatically search through the configured records in the CRM system, and pop open the record it finds, associated with the incoming phone number. If more than one record is found, PowerCTI will display a list of records, with a handy reading pane that lets the user quickly scroll through the records and find the correct one.

If no records are found with that phone number associated, PowerCTI will pop up either an advanced find, or one of the searching-based PowerPack add-ons – PowerFind or PowerGlobalSearch.
